Client Story- Changing Your Destiny

When Darrin walked through our doors 5 months ago, he was ready to make some big changes. He knew it was time to focus on his health and wellness, but also knew it would take a lot of hard work and dedication. In just a handful of months, Darrin has gone from not being able to finish his first free trial class to deadlifting over 300lbs and losing over 30lbs. We cannot be more proud of him and are so thankful that we have been able to make an impact on his life both inside and outside of the gym.

Q:?WHY DID YOU JOIN CROSSFIT WINTER PARK?

A: I was 55 years old and spent most of my life in a chair behind a desk, I lost my wife, and 14 months later my adult son, and suddenly life was more precious to me. I want to be able to enjoy the last half of this journey. January 23rd, I made a decision to change my destiny. With help from Carlos, Jenn, and Stephanie, I am doing it.

Q:?WHAT'S BEEN YOUR BIGGEST ACCOMPLISHMENT SINCE JOINING US?

A: Mentally I am more focused, and I've lost 30lbs in 3 months.

Q:?WHAT ARE YOU WORKING ON NOW?

A: My form, just remembering what the exercises are called is tough, but proper form is what I'm looking to dial in.

Q:?WHAT'S YOUR FAVORITE MEMORY AT OUR GYM?

A: When I did my max deadlift to 315. from where I started, which was maybe 100lbs, to see where I am today.

Q:?WHAT MOTIVATES YOU TO CONTINUE TRAINING AT CFWP?

A:?The people I see every week, working as hard as I do, all ages all sizes, and to watch my body change every day. My destiny has changed.
