Our adult members have said many times: “I wish I had found CrossFit as a kid.” CrossFit Kids is meant to be FUN for all ages. Fun means we provide an alternative to sedentary pursuits, which translates into less childhood obesity and all around better health for our kids. Our system is scalable for any age or experience level.
Based on the principle of mechanics, consistency and then intensity, CrossFit for youth focuses on proper movement throughout childhood and adolescence. When a child learns how to move his or her body properly and safely, the benefits will continue throughout adulthood. Our CrossFit Kids program can improve a child’s coordination, balance, strength, flexibility and so much more. The program also benefits both competitive and recreational athletes leading to enhanced sports performance and fewer sports injuries for kids and teens.
The Goal of CrossFit Kids Winter Park is create a FUN fitness environment while still incorporating the fundamental methodologies of CrossFit.
CrossFit Kids is CrossFit. The prescription is the same for kids and adults: Constantly Varied, High Intensity, Functional Movement.
We strive to ensure all of our Athletes learn and achieve the proper technique of each exercise. Quality of Movement (solid mechanics) comes first. When our Athletes show consistently good mechanics, High Intensity can then be introduced.
This is so important for the safety and development of our young Athletes. The biggest key to developing quality of movement is to understand that, like all things in life, it is a process. Our young Athletes have years to develop and we are laying the foundation.
Our Kids need to have fun in order to get most out of any class or activity. We keep them engaged with Constantly Varied movements that are Functional in nature.
We strive to create an environment in which our kids can succeed and feel good about themselves and the hard work they have put in.
The typical age range in our classes is 8-13 years old. If your child is slightly younger or older, he or she may still be able to fit in. We will assess on a case-by-case basis. Please contact us to set up a time to meet.
