CrossFit Winter Park is proud and excited to be joining the Winter Park community and taking part in “Shop and Share for John Michael.” John Michael is a excellent student and lacrosse player at Trinity Prep. With nothing but an amazing future ahead of him, John Michael accepted an offer to play lacrosse in college at Mercer. Then out of nowhere, this winter, he suffered a sudden stroke and as a result, has been left with with a condition known as “Locked In Syndrome.” His mind is functioning, but he has lost control over his body, he cannot walk or talk. He is now living in Atlanta at a hospital facility where he is working to regain his physical abilities.
The Shop and Share will take place on March 16th with shops along Park Ave giving portions of their proceeds toward the fund for John Michael’s rehab and recovery.
In each of our classes on March 16th, we will be hosting a workout in John Michael’s honor. “24” will be a workout for all experience levels and we welcome the entire community to join us in celebrating John Michael’s strength and determination. We will be collecting donations and all drop in fees from our visitors will be given directly to the rehabilitation and recovery of this amazing young man. Please help us as we honor John Michael and raise funds, encourage friends to join us next Wednesday to WOD before they shop!
